Imagine arriving at an engagement party, only to discover you’re actually attending a wedding!
That’s exactly what happened at Jim & Erin’s unforgettable celebration at 9 Aviles in historic downtown St. Augustine, Florida.
Their closest family and friends, including their parents, arrived expecting to celebrate the couple’s engagement. But when Jim and Erin made their entrance, the DJ had a surprise announcement: they weren’t there for an engagement party after all. Jim and Erin were getting married!
The reactions were priceless. Shocked expressions quickly turned into enormous smiles, laughter, happy tears, and the kind of excitement that comes from witnessing something completely unexpected. It was one of those wonderful “Wait, is this really happening?!” moments that made the entire day so much fun to photograph.
And what a beautiful setting for such an unforgettable surprise! Their wedding took place at 9 Aviles, an elegant, intimate wedding venue tucked along Aviles Street, one of the oldest streets in America. Surrounded by the historic charm of downtown St. Augustine, the venue provided a gorgeous backdrop for a celebration that was equal parts classy, joyful, and wonderfully unconventional.
